County Seat: Hot Sulphur Springs.
If you travel much in Colorado, you would be hard pressed to miss the Rocky Mountains. In our travels we have been privileged to cross back and forth across these majestic peaks on numerous occasions. These beautiful sights stretch over 3000 miles from Northern Canada down into New Mexico. Colorado claims nearly 78 of the 100 highest peaks of the Rocky Mountains. When God makes a mountain, He doesn’t play around! Just ask the bighorn sheep, moose, elk, deer and antelope, bison, birds and bears and… I could go on.
There will be many pictures in this post so sit back, breathe it in, and enjoy!
We have arrived! Crossing the Great Continental Divide (again) at 9,683 feet, going over Berthoud Pass at 11,306 feet, being at the crossing of Jackson and Grand Counties- these aren’t everyday events for us. And, it’s not exactly every day we get to see a buffalo herd meandering across the foot of the Rocky Mountains. Grand County continues our journey across the amazing state of Colorado.
Our first stop here is where Muddy Creek, Blue River and The Colorado River join together in Grand County, in a small quiet town called Kremmling. This place is affectionately known as “The Sportsman’s Paradise” and sits at 7,364 feet. We met some amazing people here. The first ones we met were Robbie and his wife Cynthia, leaders of the Kremmling Community Church. We will have our worship and communion time here with this brother and sister in the Lord, and later close our time in Grand County by praying over the County Seat of Hot Sulphur Springs.
Our brother Robbie had a quiet, gentle but strong spirit about him. His heart for Jesus was sweet and the Lord’s anointing flowed over us as we gathered here. This man was an “on-fire” warrior for the Lord and it was a special time in the Lord’s presence together. He told of us of a recently donated building in the town square, and how God had continued to pour out His Shalom peace over them as they labor here for the Kingdom. I will let the pictures tell of our time together laying our offerings in the ground and sharing communion and worship.
Robbie dug a small hole, or “well” in a chosen place in the ground. Tony placed a flat stone in the well, or the “foundation” of our altar. (See I Kings 18, the story of Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal.) A set of small sticks were arranged over the stone, as we also prayed for the fire of God to come down on the hearts of His church, beginning with our own hearts.
We placed in a chain link in the ground next, crying out for unity. Then, a small container was also placed on our altar holding a tiny scroll with the theme verse of this journey, Jeremiah 10:6-7. We sprinkled mustard seed over the altar, asking God to grow faith in us and across the land, and Robbie took some of that seed and threw it into the air. In this way we ask that God will take that seed and grow strong faith across Colorado and America. A “Colorado Prays” card was placed in the ground, as we again cry out for more intercessors to rise up for all of America, Grand County and Colorado. Water and oil are poured over our offerings, signifying that Jesus is the Living Water, and asking for more anointing of Holy Spirit.
Our time together is completed with taking communion. This is always a sacred time at His feet as we remember the price He paid for us, His bride. We call this “taking communion with the land”, as we pour a portion of the elements into the ground as His blood was spilled out for us. All this is consecrated to the Lord and as we bury our offerings, then blow shofars in celebration. Our final sealing of our time together is in worship to our King!
THANK YOU FOR THEIR KINDNESS TO US TODAY, AND FOR THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP WE SHARED; FOR THE WAY YOU ARE WORKING IN KREMMLING, AND FOR THESE LOVERS OF YOU WHO ARE POURING THEMSELVES OUT FOR THIS COMMUNITY AND FOR YOUR KINGDOM. MAY THIS PLACE ALWAYS BE A LIGHTHOUSE TO BRING LOST ONES TO YOU.
In the car on the way to Hot Sulphur Springs, we sang more worship to the Lord: “There is None Like You”, “I Enter the Holy of Holies”, and “We Exalt Thee”. We prayed over the beautiful town and worshiped the Lord for the beauty of His creation. This place is amazing. Our God is amazing! We prayed over the schools, churches and the Town Hall. Leaving Hot Sulphur Springs, we headed back through the switchbacks towards home. We did need to slow down and stop for a while, as a herd of rams, 15 or more, claimed the right-of-way on the highway. It was quite a show.
TBD
LORD, THERE IS NONE LIKE YOU!
