County Seat: Cheyenne Wells.

Cheyenne Wells was waiting for us next. The church we had contacted was unavailable today, but we knew God had a plan. As we drove through town praying over many sights, there it was: Grace Lutheran Church, a beautiful historic church, and it was open for us to go in and worship. It was as though it had been there waiting for us. This was a Divine Appointment.

This beautiful place, over a hundred years old, reminded me sweetly of the United Methodist Church I grew up in. There were many similarities. We sang together, “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name” from the hymnal, before leaving to find a park. What a sweet moment in time it was for us there, and especially for me.

We soon found our park, the perfect place. There was a flag flying overhead, and nearby was a large playground, and a shelter with picnic tables for rest. There were so many trees filling this park, and it was all very beautiful with a chill in the air reminding us we were now in late afternoon. Tony got out his “weapon of warfare” and began preparing the ground. Time for our memorials!

Our time together at Your feet, Lord, reminds me of a song we have sung in many places across our nation, "You Are Worthy of it All".

Because, Oh Lord, You are!

It was a quiet and sweet atmosphere here as we prayed over each symbol. Communion is always such a special part of our memorials, and we remember. The sign on the church had said, “By Grace Alone, Through Faith Alone, In Christ Alone.” Yes, Lord. You paid it all, and You did it for us. We remember. We take communion together, place our emblems in the ground, and we remember.

May the beauty of Your face be found by those seeking You in Cheyenne Wells. May the springs of living water be found here. May the leaders in this place follow Your divine council, and may the churches in this place know You and follow You, and lead others to You in truth. May this land know great revivals and may the children here be safe and protected, and taught rightly of the Lord. May the peace of YOU blow over Cheyenne Wells, and all of Cheyenne County. May this place be one where people who are thirsty can come and find You.

Our time here was precious. Cheyenne Wells, we understand you got Your name from the wells dug by the Cheyenne Indians. In John 4:14 , Jesus told the woman from Samaria who came to the well for water, “But whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” Oh Lord, let this be what Cheyenne County is known for- a place to find YOU.

Thank You for blessing our time in Cheyenne County. May many here find You this very day.
