County Seat: Del Norte.

Today we will visit Del Norte, the county seat of Rio Grande County. As always, we start out with no idea what will meet us here today. And as always, we will be surprised by God’s plans for us yet again!

We started with a Divine Appointment like no other! We met Hannah! At the hotel where we stayed last night, a stranger in the hallway became a friend! I passed Hannah in the hallway about three times, then said hello, then the conversation progressed to: “God Bless You,” “Oh, yes He does”, “You know Him well don’t you?” “Oh yes, I know Him well, we’re best buds!” (to myself: “THAT’S one of THEM!”) To Hannah, “Me too!” We quickly progressed to hugs, stories, testimonies, and about an hour in her hotel room, 2 doors up from ours- and she’s an intercessor warrior! Searching for what to do next- she is now coming with us today! God, You are so good!

Rio Grande proved to be a quiet little town sitting in the shade of some beautiful mountains, with the Rio Grande River nearby. History cries out in the homesteads we passed and I wish they could all tell their stories. I can only imagine what stories they would tell… As we navigated this town, we decided to start with the Post Office. As we took in the history all around us, we found the police department first. The Chief of Police Frank “happened” to be there, and we prayed with both he and the woman at the desk. They were very open to prayer for their county. It was a holy moment to be able to encourage this man. Next, we found a sweet woman, Sarah, in the Post Office. Sarah asked if we could also please pray over Martha, the Postmaster, who was in the back and had recently navigated through some health issues. They brought her out to us, and we were honored to have Tony lead a prayer over her.

We made our way to New Life Fellowship, where we were warmly welcomed. Here with us today were Richard and his wife Tracy. Richard is a Deacon here, and Tracy is the media leader. Also joining us was the interim pastor Todd, and several others from their fellowship. About 9 of us were there in all. This was such a beautiful temple to the Lord! Pastor Todd was “all in”. Our communion time and our offerings with these people was a precious and sacred time. Tony always does such a good job of explaining the symbols of our prayers, and everyone was very open to entering the Lord’s presence in worship and prayer. After our offerings were placed in the ground and we shared communion together, we sealed our time with “We Exalt Thee”, “You are Worthy of it All”, and “Amazing Grace”. I played my guitar and Hannah blessed us with her beautiful fiddle, playing Amazing Grace. It was beyond beautiful.

After our time at New Life Fellowship, Hannah needed to get home but our time with her was priceless. Tony, Melody and I got lunch together in Del Norte, then headed towards Creede. Lord You are so good. We never will stop being amazed at all You arrange in advance, people You let us meet, and divine appointments. There is truly NONE LIKE YOU! Thank you for Rio Grande County!

PSALM 121:1-8, NIV

I I will lift up my eyes to the mountains—

where does my help come from?

2 My help comes from the Lord,

the Maker of heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot slip—

he who keeps you will not slumber;

4 Behold, he who watches over Israel

will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper—

the Lord is your shade on your right hand;

6 the sun will not smite you by day,

nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will protect you from all evil—

he will keep your soul.;

8 the Lord will guard your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and forever.
